Mikhail Prokhorov in Epstein Files: PMEF Parties and Buffett Autograph

The U.S. Department of Justice recently released a new batch of files related to the high-profile case of financier Jeffrey Epstein, who was tried for sexually abusing minors and involving them in prostitution and exploitation.

MSK1.RU reviewed the Epstein files and found mentions of 60-year-old billionaire Mikhail Prokhorov. We explain how the American financier spoke about the Russian businessman and what secrets have come to light.

In 2008, Epstein pleaded guilty to solicitation of prostitution and was convicted of raping a minor. In 2019, he was re-arrested on charges of sex trafficking. Before trial, he committed suicide in his cell.

Epstein was believed to have created a network for involving underage girls in prostitution and sexual exploitation. He raped some himself or sold them to wealthy clients. He also organized closed parties on his island, where orgies reportedly took place.

The Epstein files total three million pages. They mention former U.S. President Bill Clinton, current President Donald Trump, Prince Andrew (brother of King Charles III), Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, magician David Copperfield, actors John Kerry and Dustin Hoffman, Microsoft founder Bill Gates, and many others.

It should be noted that a mention in the Epstein files does not imply guilt.

«Prokhorov Didn«t Take His Eyes Off Me All Evening»

Mikhail Prokhorov«s name actively appeared in 2014. In mid-May, a sender whose name is redacted reported to Epstein that his/her sister»s husband, a top manager at Sberbank, was going somewhere. He/she also stated that a friend was working on arranging a personal introduction to Prokhorov.
The next message is dated 22 May 2014. At the time, the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (PMEF) was taking place, attended by top officials. That particular day, a closed Soho Rooms party was held at the Gymnasium restaurant on Konnogvardeisky Boulevard. According to Gazeta SPB, the party was attended by St. Petersburg prosecutor Sergei Litvinenko and Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov.
«Yes, I«m gradually meeting people. I had dinner with someone from Sberbank, and now at the birthday party of Russia»s most famous DJ (DJ Smash — he«s like Testo (probably meaning Tiësto. — Ed.)), I saw Prokhorov in the same restaurant with not the best company. He greeted our DJ,» the message says.
The description might also match the DJ«s birthday celebration at the White Park restaurant in Novaya Riga, near Moscow. It took place the day after the informal PMEF party. That evening, DJ Smash descended to the guests by helicopter. Stars of the TV series Real Boys, Anton Bogdanov and Vladimir Selivanov, the group Vintage, and others attended.
A message dated 23 May 2014 also supports the PMEF connection: «It seems we are hosting all the big parties (Deripaska, Prokhorov) with my friends from McKinsey & Company — it«s much better than going alone or bringing along Prokhorov»s rude assistant. P.S. My friends told me that at the first few forums there were many girls/prostitutes looking for guys. Eventually it became too much and the organizers said they should no longer be allowed in.»
On 24 May 2014, Epstein«s contact managed to personally cross paths with Mr. Prokhorov at PMEF: «The tall guy on the left is Prokhorov! He didn»t take his eyes off me all evening! He said that when I went to the bathroom, he kept looking around for me! It was better not to talk to him too much at the party — it would damage my reputation. I«m sure I»ll see him soon or hear from him.»
On 2 March 2016, Prokhorov«s name comes up in the context of a possible meeting with one of the world»s biggest investors, Warren Buffett: «Prokhorov asks to be introduced to Warren Buffett. We can arrange that,» writes Epstein«s interlocutor.
That same evening, an autograph from Buffett is requested for Prokhorov. Apparently, a personal meeting could not be arranged: «Glad to see you last night. On March 8, a Belarusian blonde is coming to me. I strongly advise Naye to continue the relationship because she knows all the girls (I don«t go on dates anymore). Also, if you see Warren Buffett, could you ask him for an autograph for Mikhail Prokhorov? I»d be very grateful.»
Prokhorov also appears in correspondence from 23 December 2017: «I was told there was a guy in Moscow who gave girls key necklaces, do you know about him?» asks Epstein. «That could be Prokhorov. He gives girls necklaces like these,» comes the reply.
In 2018, two messages are forwarded to Jeffrey Epstein. One, from 18 March, talks about girls the financier«s interlocutor found, describing them as «very good, young, and poor.» «I»ll finish my business this week. Meet this one, she«s not a beauty queen, but both of us like her very much,» they write to Epstein.
The second message forwarded to Epstein is more mysterious. It quotes Prokhorov about a certain entrepreneur in rehab at a Florida resort: «Don«t you know him personally? — Prokhorov allegedly said. — His business is illegal. He is currently in rehab in Palm Beach.» The link in the message leads to an interview with entrepreneur Denis Sukhotin, who owns investment company FxPro.
On 25 October 2018, a message forwarded to Epstein lists several names allegedly linked to a murder: «The killers are Prokhorov and Baybakov (oligarch and collector, former president of ONEXIM, which is owned by Prokhorov) and their people, Zampolli Paolo (Italian businessman, now U.S. Special Representative for Global Partnerships), Anna Konchakovskaya (probably a go-go dancer better known as Moryachka), and everyone who works for them. Prokhorov has something to hide.»
A second message mentions drugs: «No, just that test I sent you a few days ago, where I was negative for cocaine. I stopped using cocaine.»
MSK1.RU could not reach Mikhail Prokhorov or his assistants at any of the numbers available to the editorial staff.
The Epstein files also contain mentions of European royal family members. Read about who else can be found in the documents. We also reported on the owner of a Russian modeling agency mentioned in the files for allegedly supplying girls to sex parties.
