Honored Artist Olga Chipovskaya dies at 67

Honored Artist of Russia Olga Chipovskaya has died in Moscow at the age of 67. The tragic news was announced by the Vakhtangov Theatre, where the actress served for 45 years.

«Olga Chipovskaya devoted her entire life to the stage... Powerful, versatile, sharply-characterized and tragic, one of the brightest actresses of her generation,» the statement said.
The cause of death has not been disclosed. The theatre said it would announce the date and location of the farewell service later.
Olga Chipovskaya was born in 1958. She graduated from the Boris Shchukin Theatre Institute in Moscow. Immediately after graduation in 1980, the young actress joined the Vakhtangov Theatre troupe. She made her stage debut as Solange in the play «Summer in Nohant.» She later performed roles including Adelma («Princess Turandot»), Mimi («The Three Ages of Casanova»), Gabriel («Old Russian Vaudevilles»), Veselkina («The Barbarians»), and many others.
Olga Chipovskaya was married to People«s Artist of Russia and musician Boris Frumkin. They had a daughter, Anna, who followed in her mother»s footsteps and became an actress — you may know her from numerous film and theatre roles.
