Drone Captures Portal-Like Tornado Over Lake

Nature has an endless supply of surprises waiting for humanity to discover and see. With modern technology, this process has accelerated many times over. Recently, researchers using artificial intelligence discovered 70 volcanoes on the ocean floor, and now another team of enthusiasts has shown an extraordinary natural phenomenon that is no less impressive.

The Otus team, which films tornadoes with drones, released a magical video. In it, a vortex spins not over land but over a lake, resembling a huge open portal to another world. A double rainbow appearing above the funnel adds extra magic. Winx, if this is your doing, time to come clean.

According to the researchers, they filmed this natural phenomenon in Canada near the village of Tullybi Lake. The team had to work hard for the footage. They drove 18 hours and stayed overnight near the area to get the best shots.

— Interesting fact: this was our longest tornado flight so far. I held the drone on its side to get better signal, — the team pilot shared.

From the ground, such beauty is invisible because the double rainbow appears due to the abundance of droplets in the tornado funnel, which refract light. Internet users can«t contain their surprise and delight. Even though the researchers have been shooting tornadoes for years and post all videos on their blog, their subscribers still can»t fully believe that such beauty is not the work of artificial intelligence.
