Apple services have stopped working. Users in Russia cannot open the App Store or Apple Music.

«Problems may arise from an accident or technical failure; the issue may also be temporary,» says the website Sboy.rf.

Complaints about the App Store are coming from several regions of Russia. According to the service, Moscow accounts for 20%, St. Petersburg 13%, and Udmurtia, Kursk, Rostov, Bryansk, Volgograd Oblasts, and Stavropol Krai each 5%.

«Neither the App Store nor Apple Music will load,» wrote one user.

The internet censorship monitoring service OONI has recorded a sharp drop in availability in Russia of Apple’s app store and its official website. In other countries, such as the United States, the United Kingdom, and Germany, no such trend is observed.

Apple earlier removed from its store the apps of VK (social network), including the messenger MAX, as well as Odnoklassniki (social network) and Pochta Mail (email app). They were also removed from Google Play.

The correspondent sent a request to Roskomnadzor (the Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technology and Mass Media) to find out the reasons for the outage. As soon as a response arrives, we will publish it.

Updated at 13:38 Moscow time.

«Roskomnadzor does not restrict access to the App Store,» the agency told MSK1.RU.
