Alrosa presented a diamond of a rare lavender hue in the shape of a heart. Its weight is 2.03 carats, and its market value is $1.5 million (125 million rubles).
The gemstone has a clarity of VS2 and is cut in the shape of a heart. The diamond was cut from a rough stone mined in Yakutia in 2025 — the cutting took more than six months. Experts estimate the crystal«s age at 350 million years. The precious stone will be presented at shows in the near future.
«Special value is given by the fancy color «Intense Purple Pink» with a pronounced lavender hue. Diamonds of this color group are extremely rare, especially after the closure of the Australian Argyle mine in 2020, which produced 90% of pink diamonds of various shades. According to the Fancy Color Research Foundation, global prices for pink diamonds have risen by almost 400% over the past 20 years,» the company reported.
