February in Arkhangelsk Oblast started with cold weather. Temperatures over the weekend dropped to -37°C (-35°F). Forecasters report that severe frosts will linger in the Pomorye region for some time.
«At the beginning of next week, severe frosts will persist in the northeast of our region. High atmospheric pressure will predominate. Air temperatures are expected to be -15 to -20°C (5 to -4°F), dropping to -30°C (-22°F) at night during clear spells,» said the Northern Hydrometeorological Service (UGMS).
By the end of the week, it will warm up to -10 to -15°C (14 to 5°F).
