Voronezh Oblast Issues Storm Warning for Severe Frost

The regional branch of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM) issued a storm warning for Voronezh Oblast as temperatures from 5 to 6 February are expected to be 5–10°C below the climatic norm.

A storm warning was issued in Voronezh Oblast due to severe frosts, the regional branch of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM) reported.

According to an official statement from the agency, on Friday, 6 February, the average daily air temperature will be 5–10 degrees below the climatic norm and will range from -12°C (10°F) to -17°C (1°F).

Despite the fact that in the coming days a cyclone will begin to bring gradual warming to the region, the temperature will still be low. The Hydrometeorological Center clarifies that the coldest night is expected from 5 to 6 February, when thermometers in the region may drop to -18°C (0°F) to -23°C (-9°F). During the day on 6 February, the temperature will rise only to -8°C (18°F) to -13°C (9°F). A sharp change will occur only on Saturday, 7 February, with the arrival of snowfall and wet snow, which will bring a thaw to 0°C (32°F) to -5°C (23°F) during the day.
