Volga Ice Thickness Table for Samara and Tolyatti

Fresh data on the thickness of Volga ice near Samara and Tolyatti has been released. This year, due to severe frosts, the thickest ice cover formed off the shores of Avtograd (the auto city, referring to Tolyatti).

«On the left bank of the Volga, near Tolyatti on the Kuybyshev Reservoir, it is 45 centimeters. 500 meters from shore — 40 centimeters. And near Zhigulyovsk there is no ice field. At Gavrilova Polyana there is a large polynya (open water),» the Search and Rescue Service of Samara Oblast reported.
