Krasnodar Mayor Yevgeny Naumov announced on January 29 that city services are on high alert for inclement weather over the upcoming weekend. According to forecasts, the city is expecting rain, wet snow, and frost.

This time, 88 pieces of equipment are ready for road cleaning and treatment. The work will involve 36 combined road machines, as well as graders, dump trucks, and loaders. Special attention will be paid to school bus routes, and equipment will be on duty near bridges and overpasses. The stock of sand-salt mixture exceeds 7,000 tons.

The number of workers for pedestrian zones has been increased: during the day, up to 650 people will treat sidewalks, crosswalks, and bus stops, and at night—up to 120. Additional special equipment will be connected to the cleanup. More than 2,500 containers throughout the city are already filled with sand-salt mixture.

Management companies and homeowners« associations have been warned in advance about the bad weather. They were reminded of the need to prepare their own or rented snow removal equipment for work on residential premises.

Public transport is also preparing for difficult conditions. The Krasnodar Tram and Trolleybus Department (KTTU) will, if necessary, deploy 10 combined road machines and five snowplows for tram tracks. Equipment for clearing switches and the contact network from ice remains in reserve.

In addition, 35 vehicles and 17 motor pumps are ready for pumping out water. If necessary, the rescue service will set up two heating points. In case of heavy snowfall, administration staff and employees of subordinate institutions will again go out to clear paths near their buildings, and volunteer help is also expected.

«Dear residents, only together with you, by uniting all efforts, will we be able to eliminate the consequences of the snowfall. Be careful on the roads and sidewalks. Report emergencies by calling 112,» the mayor added.

Recall that on January 12, a heavy snowfall hit Krasnodar, but residents had many complaints about the road cleanup. The criticism was voiced even by the governor.
