The beginning of 2026 turned out to be unusually cold for residents of Rostov-on-Don, with temperatures often dropping below -10°C (14°F) or even -15°C (5°F). In such weather, not only residents but also water bodies freeze. While small canals quickly ice over, freezing the Don is not so easy. But this winter managed to do it. If the ice were not broken up, the entire river would be covered with an ice crust.
