Strong winds up to 18 m/s expected in Urals
The regional department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM) issued an emergency warning due to stormy weather expected in the Sverdlovsk region on Wednesday.

In the coming days, frosty and windy weather is expected in Yekaterinburg and the region, which will significantly enhance the feeling of cold.

In the Sverdlovsk region, a storm warning has been issued for Wednesday, 5 February, due to strong winds with gusts up to 18 meters per second.
Rescuers recommend that residents and organizations observe heightened safety measures:
- Completely refrain from high-altitude work and outdoor activities.
- Refrain from using pyrotechnics.
If you find yourself outdoors during squally winds, avoid staying close to building walls, from whose roofs and balconies snow masses or roofing elements, such as slate, may fall. Drivers are advised to leave cars in closed parking lots, not under trees or billboards that might be toppled by the wind.
In case of an emergency, call the fire and rescue service at 101 or the unified emergency number 112.
Against this backdrop, the regional department of the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate (GIBDD) also appealed to drivers to refrain from long-distance trips in the coming days if possible, due to the expected adverse weather conditions.
