Rescuers have extended the storm warning. On 6 February, bad weather will persist in some areas of the Sverdlovsk Region: gusts of wind up to 18 meters per second are expected.

The Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM) reminds that during strong winds, outdoor and high-altitude work should be stopped. Using pyrotechnics in bad weather is also inadvisable.

Pedestrians are advised not to walk along buildings, and drivers are asked not to park cars near unstable structures.

In an emergency, call the unified emergency services number — «112».

Earlier, we reported on what the weather would be like in Yekaterinburg until the end of the week — forecasters promised a warming.

«The pocket of cold air that arrived behind the front will move into Siberia. The weather in the Sverdlovsk Region will soften by 3–6 degrees in the coming days, not only due to the influx of warmer air but also because of moderate (gusty) winds, which improve mixing in the surface layer of the atmosphere and prevent the formation of significant surface temperature inversions. Precipitation will be light on 6–7 February; snow is likely on 8 February as warmer, moist air is carried from the southern regions of the European territory of Russia,» noted Galina Sheporenko, chief meteorologist of the Urals.
