Storm Warning and Two Danger Levels Declared for Samara Oblast

Specialists from the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM) and meteorologists from the Privolzhsky Hydrometeorological Center have warned that Tuesday, February 3, is expected to be an unfavorable day.
«During the day, heavy snow is expected with visibility of 500–1000 meters, and snow drifts on the roads. A yellow danger level has been declared,» states the first warning.
Moreover, a storm warning will be in effect in the region.
«From February 3 to 7, 2026, in some parts of Samara Oblast, anomalously cold weather is expected with the average daily air temperature 9 degrees or more below the climatic norm. An orange danger level has been declared,» the meteorologists notify.
Another cold snap will come to the region on Tuesday.
«In the coming 24 hours, with a wave cyclonic formation moving across the borders of the oblast, unstable weather with snow and large temperature contrasts is expected. Subsequently, with rising atmospheric pressure, precipitation will stop, and frosts will intensify at night in some parts of the oblast to 30 degrees and below,» said Irina Vytagova, a specialist at the Privolzhsky Hydrometeorological Center.
On the night of Tuesday, February 3, thermometers will drop to 16…-18 °C (61…0°F). Light snow is forecast. During the day, the air temperature will be -10…-12 °C (14…10°F). Precipitation will intensify, with strong northwesterly wind (6…11 m/s) added.
On the night of Wednesday, February 4, light snow will continue to fall. The air will cool to -22…-27 °C (-8…-17°F). During the day, the frost will remain: -16…-21 °C (3…-6°F). And precipitation will end.
On the night of Thursday, February 5, thermometers will fluctuate within -26…-31 °C (-15…-24°F). During the day, -14…-19 °C (7…-2°F) is expected. Over the 24 hours, partly cloudy weather without precipitation is forecast.
On the night of Friday, February 6, the region expects -21…-26 °C (-6…-15°F). In some places, thermometers will drop to -31 °C (-24°F). During the day, meteorologists forecast -11…-16 °C (12…3°F). No precipitation is expected over the 24 hours.
On the night of Saturday, February 7, the air will cool to -16…-21 °C (3…-6°F). During the day, -7…-12 °C (19…10°F) is expected. Over the 24 hours, they forecast cloudy weather with clearings, and meteorologists do not promise significant precipitation.
The Hydrometeorological Center of Russia reported that the weather in Samara Oblast will be anomalous:
«The average air temperature in the first ten days of February is expected to be 5.0 degrees below the norm,» the meteorologists reported.
