Rostov Region warned of -26°C frost and blizzard

The new work week in Rostov will begin with frost and a blizzard, reports the Hydrometeorological Center. Strong winds are forecast in the city.

Daytime temperatures will be -8 to -10°C (18 to 14°F). At night, it will get even colder — frosts will intensify to -14 to -16°C (7 to 3°F).

«At night, no significant precipitation; during the day, heavy snow, a blizzard. On the roads, black ice, during the day, snowdrifts», — states the Hydrometeorological Center bulletin.

Wind gusts will reach 15 meters per second. A blizzard is also forecast for the night of February 3.

Snow is forecast on Monday across the entire Rostov Region. In the south of the region, rain is possible. Against the backdrop of frost, roads may be covered with black ice.

In the north of the region, forecasters predict night frosts down to -26°C (-15°F), and in the south — down to -18°C (0°F). During the day, on average, it will be -6 to -15°C (21 to 5°F).

Forecasters warn that the entire first week of February will be frosty and snowy. It will warm up in the region by the beginning of the second decade.
