Omsk's hatless residents brave frosts in summer sneakers

Siberian frosts have settled in Omsk, bringing prolonged sub-zero temperatures.
In Omsk, frosts have been persisting for the second week. The current air temperature is -25°C (-13°F), but it feels like -31°C (-24°F). The cold has no plans to retreat, and forecasters promise temperatures from -28°C (-18°F) to -33°C (-27°F) in the coming days.
Such weather does not scare Omsk residents; they confidently walk around the city, and some even manage to go about without a hat and in summer sneakers. Photographer for NGS55.RU, Yevgeny Sofiychuk, is not that brave, of course, but he mustered the courage to leave home and take a few shots of the gloomy city residents. Earlier, NGS55.RU reported that city residents were warned about a severe cold snap. According to forecasters, from January 21 to 25, the average daily air temperature will be 10 degrees below normal. Frosts down to -30°C (-22°F) to -35°C (-31°F) are forecast. In some places, thermometers will drop to -40°C (-40°F).
