Meteorologists warn of abnormal frosts in Ryazan region

Abnormally cold weather is anticipated across the Ryazan region, with severe frosts expected to last several days.
Meteorologists are warning residents of the Ryazan region about the approach of a period of abnormally cold weather. According to the Ryazan Hydrometeorological Center, severe frosts are expected in the region from February 1 to 4.
The average daily air temperature on these days will be 7–12°C (45–54°F) below the climatic norm.
In Ryazan, at night, thermometers will drop to -27…-25°C (-17…-13°F), and during the day the temperature will be -19…-17°C (-2…1°F). Across the region, it will be even colder: at night, -29…-24°C (-20…-11°F) is expected, and during the day — -22…-17°C (-8…1°F).
The weather will feature variable cloud cover. At night, light snow is possible in some areas, with virtually no precipitation expected during the day. Icy conditions will remain on the roads. Winds will be southwesterly, moderate, at 5-10 m/s.
