Kuzbass February Weather: Frosts and Thaws Ahead

According to weather forecasts, Kuzbass residents can expect many weather surprises in February. On Saturday, January 31, we look at weather services to see when the last month of winter will bring frosts and when we will feel the pre-spring thaw.

Gismeteo

The Gismeteo service forecasts a fairly warm start to the month: on February 1, the daytime temperature is expected to be only -7°C (19°F), at night — down to -13°C (9°F). From February 3, a cold snap is expected, with nighttime temperatures of -24°C (-11°F) and daytime temperatures down to -17°C (1°F). At the same time, February 4 and 5 will see clear and sunny weather. The following weekend, warmth will return — up to -3°C (27°F), with light snow also likely.

From February 10, heavy snowfalls will begin, and temperatures will settle around -10°C (14°F).

The snow will stop on the 16th, and a period of clear and cloudless skies will set in until the 19th. At the end of the month, temperatures around -10°C (14°F) with light snowfalls are forecast.

Yandex Weather

Yandex Weather expects February to start with -8°C (18°F), followed by a severe cold snap: on the night of February 2, it will already be -21°C (-6°F), during the day — -14°C (7°F), on the 4th after sunset -24°C (-11°F), and by morning the temperature will rise to -13°C (9°F).

The mercury will rise sharply on February 6 — -4°C (25°F) during the day and at night.

Kuzbass residents will feel the frost again on the 10th, with temperatures cooling to -15°C (5°F) that day. Then temperatures will hold around -10°C (14°F) until February 17, after which it will cool to -15°C…-16°C (5°F…3°F).

At the end of the month, forecasters expect heavy snowfalls.

World Weather

This service gives a significantly colder forecast: February 1 — -11°C (12°F), the 2nd — already -16°C (3°F), and February 3 — 18 below zero °C (0°F).

It will warm up only on Saturday, February 7, with nighttime temperatures expected to reach -2°C (28°F). However, already on Monday, February 9, it will be -21°C (-6°F) during the day. From February 16, a more stable weather pattern should set in — around -11°C (12°F) during the day and -15°C (5°F) at night.

At the end of the month, Kuzbass residents should feel the onset of spring, with -6°C (21°F) during the day and around -10°C (14°F) at night.

Mail promises -7°C (19°F) on February 1, but it will cool down to -19°C (-2°F) at night. During the day on February 2 and 3 — -16°C (3°F), and at night — -25°C (-13°F).

This service promises the first warming to zero degrees Celsius (32°F) this year in February, which will happen on February 7. And the first above-freezing temperature will occur right on Valentine«s Day, February 14.

In the middle of the month, it will be around -10°C (14°F) during the day, but significantly colder at night, down to -18°C (0°F).

At the end of the month, -7°C…-8°C (19°F…18°F) are expected.
