By the end of the work week, Vladivostok and Primorye will experience a sharp cold snap: Primorsky Hydrometeorological Center (Primhydromet) forecasts snowfalls, icy roads, and strong north winds. Daytime average temperatures in the region will drop to -19 °C (-2 °F), and at night in the north, frosts down to -29 °C (-20 °F) are expected.

This week, Primorye can expect contrasting weather: a mild, sunny Wednesday will give way to a frosty Friday with strong north winds. On February 4, the region will remain under the influence of an anticyclone, which will hold back precipitation.

«On Wednesday, clouds will gradually cover the sky, with fog possible in some areas, and daytime temperatures will rise to +1…+2 °C (34…36 °F) on the coast. However, already on Thursday, Primorye will be covered by a cyclone from the Sea of Japan, which will bring snow to most areas of the region,» reported Primorsky Hydrometeorological Center.

On the night of February 5, snowfall will begin in the west of the region, and during the day it will cover most of Primorye. Meteorologists have warned of icy roads and snowpack formation. Nighttime temperatures will be -14…-20 °C (7…-4 °F), in the northeast down to -29 °C (-20 °F), and in the south and coast -6…-13 °C (21…9 °F). During the day, the air will warm up only to -2…-10 °C (28…14 °F).

On Friday, after the cyclone shifts to Sakhalin, snow will stop, but in Primorye it will sharply cool down: daytime temperatures will drop to -12…-19 °C (10…-2 °F), on the coast to -14…-19 °C (7…-2 °F), with strong north winds expected.

On Wednesday, the sky in Vladivostok will be overcast with clouds, fog expected in some areas. At night and in the morning, thermometers will show -7…-10 °C (19…14 °F), and during the day the air will warm up to +1…-2 °C (34…28 °F).

On Thursday morning and afternoon, snowfall will begin, with icy roads and snowpack possible. Nighttime temperatures will be slightly higher than on Wednesday, and during the day it will become colder.

Friday will be without precipitation, but with strong north winds and a sharp cold snap: temperatures throughout the day will be -14…-19 °C (7…-2 °F).
