Heating Temperatures to Be Raised in Izhevsk Due to Abnormal Frosts

In Izhevsk, due to abnormally cold weather, the temperature in the heating supply system will be increased. This was announced by the press service of the Udmurt branch of PJSC «T Plus».

According to forecasters from the regional Hydrometeorological Center, abnormal frosts are expected in the republic from January 22 to 26. The coldest days will be Friday and Saturday, January 23 and 24. The thermometer will drop to –36 degrees Celsius (–32.8°F). The average daily air temperature will be 13–17 degrees below the climatic norm.

Due to abnormal weather conditions, the Udmurt branch of PJSC «T Plus» will increase the temperature in the heating supply system in Izhevsk homes. Currently, it already exceeds 100 degrees Celsius (212°F).

If your apartment becomes too hot or very hot water flows from the tap, contact your management company or homeowners association. They are responsible for adjusting the intra-building heating system.

Residents of Udmurtia are reminded of safety rules:

  • do not approach steam sources and hot water spill areas;
  • do not park cars near heating networks and utility manholes;
  • do not allow children to play near energy facilities;
  • check the battery and antifreeze in your car;
  • equip your vehicle with an emergency stop sign, first aid kit, fire extinguisher, shovel, and tow rope;
  • before leaving the yard or parking lot, completely clear your car of snow and ice, thoroughly warm up the engine and interior;
  • while on the road, increase the distance between vehicles threefold;
  • wear shoes with textured soles, be sure to use reflective elements;
  • move more carefully on the streets, hold onto railings, avoid sloped surfaces, do not violate traffic rules.
