Frosts Recede: Warmer Weather for Kuzbass on Friday

The last working day of the first week of February will see noticeable warming in Kuzbass, according to the forecast for Friday, February 6, published on the Kemerovo Hydrometcenter website.

According to forecasters, the night of February 6 will be quite cold — the average temperature across the region will be -20°C to -25°C (-4°F to -13°F), with local lows down to -32°C (-25.6°F). Then during the day it will warm significantly, to -4°C to +1°C (24.8°F to 33.8°F), though some areas will still see frost down to -12°C (10.4°F).

The temperature rise will be accompanied by increasing winds of 4-9 m/s, with gusts up to 17 m/s. No significant precipitation is expected, except in the northern districts of the region, where wet snow will fall.

In Kemerovo, the thermometer will show -17°C to -19°C (1.4°F to -2.2°F) overnight on Friday, with daytime temperatures of 0°C to -2°C (32°F to 28.4°F). The wind will be the same as in the rest of the region; light wet snow may fall during daylight hours.
