February 2026 in Tula Region Will Be Abnormally Cold

Forecasters from the Hydrometeorological Center and the Main Geophysical Observatory of the Russian Federation report that extreme cold is expected in the Tula Region in the first weeks of February, with similar weather persisting across all of Central Russia.

According to specialists, February 2026 could be the coldest in the last 100 years.

However, earlier forecasters had promised residents of Tula an unusually warm February, but now the forecasts have changed.

On average, the temperature in February this year will be 10-18 degrees below the climatic norm. For the Tula Region, the February temperature norm is about -6.7 degrees Celsius (20°F).

The coldest period will be in the first two weeks of February. Specifically, until February 4, the temperature will drop below -20°C (-4°F), with only a brief «warming» expected from Thursday. But by February 11, the temperature will start falling again to -20°C (-4°F).
