Emergency Warning Issued for Abnormal Cold

Authorities in Yaroslavl Region have issued an emergency warning because of abnormally cold temperatures.
On the morning of February 3, the Ministry of Regional Security of Yaroslavl Region issued an emergency warning about a three-day period of abnormal cold.
“Abnormally cold weather with average daily air temperatures 7-12 degrees below the climatic norm will persist in the territory of Yaroslavl Region from February 4 to February 6, 2026,” is quoted in the department«s message.
Motorists planning intercity trips are advised to stock up on fuel, drinking water, and warm clothing.

According to data from the service ‘Weather 76.RU’, on the indicated days, the temperature will not drop below -21°C (-5.8°F). On the night of February 4, up to -21°C (-5.8°F) is expected with cloudy weather and no precipitation, during the day the thermometer will show -15°C (5°F). On the night of February 5, -17°C (1.4°F) and variable cloudiness are forecast, during the day again -15°C (5°F). On the night of February 6, the temperature will be -18°C (-0.4°F), during the day — -15°C (5°F), no precipitation is expected.
