Cold Snap to Grip Bashkortostan by Week's End

The penultimate week of January in Bashkortostan will end with extreme frosts and light snowfalls.
According to the Bashkir Hydrometeorological Center, on the night of Friday, January 23, the air temperature in the republic will drop to -24… -29 degrees Celsius (-11… -20°F), and during clear spells, thermometers will read -30… -35 (-22… -31°F). During the day, it will not be much warmer: -15… -20 on average (5… -4°F) across the region and down to -25 (-13°F) in the north.
On Saturday, January 24, meteorologists expect a similar picture. The wind will be weak with variable directions over both days. There will be light snow in places.
In Ufa, according to Gismeteo data, frosts will also persist until the end of the week. During the daytime, the air temperature will range from -18 to -23 (0… -9°F), and nights are promised to be -27 (-17°F).
