Cold Recedes: Weather in Kuzbass on February 2

On the second day of February, residents of the region can expect pleasant winter weather. Forecasters from the Kemerovo Hydrometeorological Center shared what February 2 will bring to the region, its capital, and Novokuznetsk.

Nighttime temperatures in the region will average -16…-21 °C (3…-6 °F), and in some areas the thermometer may drop to -28 °C (-18 °F). During the day, it will warm up to -13…-18 °C (9…0 °F). In the south and in mountainous areas, it will be even warmer, up to -4…-9 °C (25…16 °F).

The wind will be northeastern with gusts of 3–8 m/s, and during the day it may reach 13–14 m/s. Forecasters promise variable cloudiness, with light snow possible at night, and no precipitation expected during the day.

In the regional capital, the night promises to be cool with temperatures from -18…-20 °C (0…-4 °F). During daylight hours, the thermometer will rise slightly to -16…-18 °C (3…0 °F). Variable cloudiness without precipitation is also expected. The wind will be the same as in the region.

In Novokuznetsk, it will be even warmer. Night temperatures of -16…-18 °C (3…0 °F), and during the day it will settle at -13 °C (9 °F). The wind will be northwesterly with gusts up to 3 m/s.
