Cold Anomaly Ends; Warming Then Frosts Central Russia

Central Russia will see a brief warming this weekend as the cold anomaly shrinks, but frosts will return next week, according to Fobos weather experts.

Yaroslavl Region, like the rest of Central Russia, will see a warming on the weekend. According to experts from the Fobos center, the frosts will weaken by Saturday. True, then the region will cool again.

«In Moscow today and tomorrow, daytime temperatures are only −12…−14 °C (10…7 °F), which is on average 10 °C (18 °F) below normal. On Saturday, accompanied by light snowfall, the cold anomaly will shrink: thermometers will show −8 °C (18 °F), and on Sunday–Monday they will crawl down again,» the specialists said.

Weather by Day in Yaroslavl Region

According to the Pogoda 76.RU service, in Yaroslavl Region on the night of February 6 it will be −19 °C (−2 °F), cloudy with no precipitation. In the daytime −15 °C (5 °F), with light snowfall toward evening.

On the night of February 7, −16 °C (3 °F), light snow. In the daytime −13 °C (9 °F), precipitation will continue throughout the day.

On the night of February 8, −14 °C (7 °F), light snowfall. In the daytime −15 °C (5 °F), overcast, no precipitation.

On the night of February 9, according to the Russian Hydrometeorological Center, the temperature in the region will drop to −18 °C (0 °F), no precipitation. In the daytime −11 °C (12 °F), light brief snow.

On the night of February 10, −15 °C (5 °F), occasional light snowfall. In the daytime it will warm to −9 °C (16 °F), brief precipitation will continue.
