Breath of Spring: Altai Krai Warms to 8°C

In Altai Krai, temperatures will soon warm up to +8°C (46°F). This was reported by the regional Hydrometeorological Center.

Thus, on the night of February 4, temperatures will range from -20°C to -25°C (-4°F to -13°F), and in some places in the south, the mercury will rise to -12…-17°C (10…1°F). During the day, temperatures of -12°C to -17°C (10°F to 1°F) are expected, with some southern areas seeing -5°C to -10°C (23°F to 14°F).

There will be mostly no precipitation, but light snow may fall in some foothill areas. The wind will be northeasterly at 3-8 m/s, with gusts up to 13 m/s in places.

On the night of February 5, temperatures in some parts of the region will drop to -22…-27°C (-8…-17°F), and some areas will be hit by frosts down to -32°C (-26°F). However, clear weather is forecast during the day with a sharp warming to -11…-16°C (12…3°F), and in the west, some places can expect -4…-9°C (25…16°F).

A southeasterly wind will blow at 2-7 m/s, with gusts up to 12 m/s in some western areas.

On February 6, temperatures will continue to rise. From nighttime lows of -20…-25°C (-4…-13°F), and in some western areas -10…-15°C (14…5°F), the air will warm to -3…+2°C (27…36°F). In some foothill areas, the mercury may reach +8°C (46°F).

During the day, there will be mostly no precipitation, but light to moderate wet snow will fall in the west. The wind will be southerly at 6-11 m/s, with gusts of 16-21 m/s in places.
