Altai Krai Weekend Temperature Swing: +2 to -25°C

Storm winds and heavy snowfall are expected across Altai Krai this weekend.
According to the Altai Krai Hydrometeorological Center, a storm warning has been issued for February 7 due to approaching bad weather. Snow, including wet snow, and heavy snowfall in some areas are expected.
In the region, daytime temperatures on February 7 will range from -3 to +2 degrees Celsius (27 to 36°F), while in western areas they will be -7 or -12 degrees Celsius (19 or 10°F), followed by a cold snap. At night, temperatures will be -2 to -7 degrees Celsius (28 to 19°F), and in western areas they will drop to between -12 and -17 degrees Celsius (10 to 1°F). Light to moderate snow is forecast, with heavy snow and wet snow in the north, as well as blizzards and icy conditions. Road conditions are complicated by severe ice and snowdrifts. Wind is southwesterly at 7-12 m/s, with gusts up to 25 m/s or more.
On February 8, daytime temperatures will be -8 to -13 degrees Celsius (18 to 9°F), and in southern areas they will be -2 to -7 degrees Celsius (28 to 19°F). Isolated light snow is possible. At night, temperatures will drop to between -12 and -17 degrees Celsius (10 to 1°F), and locally to between -20 and -25 degrees Celsius (-4 to -13°F). Light to moderate snow is forecast. Wind is southwesterly at 3-8 m/s, with gusts up to 14 m/s.
In Barnaul, daytime temperatures on February 7 will be -1 to -3 degrees Celsius (30 to 27°F), with further drops. At night, temperatures will fall to -3 to -5 degrees Celsius (27 to 23°F). Light, at times moderate, snow is expected. Severe ice on roads in places. Wind is southwesterly at 4-9 m/s.
On February 8, temperatures will be -8 to -10 degrees Celsius (18 to 14°F). At night, temperatures will drop to -15 to -17 degrees Celsius (5 to 1°F). Mostly no precipitation is expected. Wind is southwesterly at 3-8 m/s.
