Yekaterinburg station updates business lounge with 1 ruble entry for veterans

At Yekaterinburg railway station, a new space has appeared in the business lounge, intended for passengers to rest or work while waiting for their train.

‘The new block on the «mezzanine» floor is equipped with individual modules featuring work desks and soft armchairs. This is convenient for visitors who need privacy and the ability to focus in a secluded setting,’ said representatives of the Sverdlovsk Railway.

Since its opening in October 2025, about five thousand people have used the business lounge services, confirming its popularity.

The premises, with an area of over 560 square meters, is divided into several thematic zones. In the relaxation zone, soft furniture and widescreen TVs are installed, and spotlights provide soft lighting.

For business meetings, a conference room is equipped, and for children — a separate play area. Also in the lounge, there is a room for storing hand luggage, a cloakroom, and sanitary facilities with a shower. Catering is organized on a buffet basis, where besides standard hot dishes, snacks, desserts, and drinks, dishes of Ural cuisine are presented.

The business lounge operates around the clock without breaks or days off, accommodating more than 70 people at a time. World War II veterans and two accompanying persons can visit the lounge for a symbolic fee of 1 ruble (about $0.01 at current rates).
