Yekaterinburg Offers Free Public Transport, But With a Catch

Residents of Yekaterinburg are set to receive a gift – free public transport. However, the promotion will not apply to everyone and will last only a short time.

Only municipal transport is involved (private carriers are not participating), and only participants of «Lyzhnya Rossii» (Russia«s Ski Track) will be able to use the free travel right.

«On 14 February 2026 from 09:00 to 16:00, all participants of the mass race »Lyzhnya Rossii« will be provided with free travel on Yekaterinburg»s municipal public transport. This measure will allow them to easily and conveniently get to the sports tracks and back,« Ivan Alypov, deputy director of the department of physical culture and sports, said in his Telegram channel.

The All-Russian mass race «Lyzhnya Rossii – 2026» will take place on 14 February across the country. Participants can register through «Gosuslugi» (the state services portal), and applications will be accepted until 12 February.

In Yekaterinburg, nine venues will be operating:

• Preobrazhensky Park in Akademichesky (61 Vilgelma de Gennina Street);

• MBOU DO SSh of the Verkh-Isetsky District (54a Frolova Street, water area of the Verkh-Isetsky Pond);

• The «Lokomotiv» ski base (63 Reshetskaya Street);

• MBOU DO SSh «Viktoriya» (111 Otdykha Street, water area of Lake Shartash);

• The Children and Youth Center «Meshkholny Stadium» (3a Denisova-Uralskogo Boulevard);

• The ski base in Mayakovsky Park (230 Michurina Street);

• The ski base of MAU «SOK Kalininetz» (48 Krasnoflotsev Street);

• The ski base of MBOU DO SSh No. 19 «Detsky Stadium» (13 Bakinskikh Komissarov Street);

• MBOU DO SSh «Rodonit» (35 Proninoy Street).
