Wind Clears Deicing Agents, Bus Overturns Near Anapa

The accident occurred on the morning of February 2 on the A-290 highway in the Anapa area. A shift bus was traveling between the stanitsa of Nizhnyaya Gostagayka and the settlement of Vinogradny. Due to strong side winds and black ice, it veered off the road and overturned. One person was injured and received assistance, according to the press service of the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs (MVD).
A traffic police officer asked drivers to be more attentive and observe the speed limit. Currently, the highways are slippery because strong winds are blowing away anti-icing reagents, preventing them from melting the ice. This is a particularly acute problem in the areas of Novorossiysk, Anapa, and Temryuk.
Later, in the Telegram channel of the Kuban police, it was explained again that strong side winds and rain at sub-zero temperatures form black ice on the roads in Anapa and the Temryuk district.
On the Novorossiysk–Kerch highway, reagents are being sprayed, but strong wind «reduces the effectiveness of the treatment.» Drivers are asked to reduce speed, keep distance, and drive only on winter tires.
Currently, traffic police officers are on duty on the highway. If the situation worsens, traffic may be restricted in the Anapa and Dzhiginka areas.
«A worsening of the situation on the roads in the Slavyansk and Krymsk districts is also possible,» added the police.
