Warming Centers Opened for Drivers in Chelyabinsk Region
Six mobile warming points will operate on the federal highways in the region, where drivers can warm up during severe frosts.

Warming points have been deployed in the Chelyabinsk Region for the second time this week.

The Southern Urals Road Administration announced on January 21 that during abnormal frosts, six mobile warming points will begin operating on the federal highways of the Chelyabinsk Region.

Inside the mobile points, there is drinking water, a first-aid kit, and warm blankets.

The points are located at the following coordinates:
- M-5 highway — near Asha (1563 km), Zlatoust (1737 km), Miass (1779 km);
- R-254 «Irtysh» highway — near the village of Vakhrushevo (30 km);
- A-310 highway — near Troitsk (132 km);
- Approach to Yekaterinburg — turn to Tyubuk (110 km).

Road workers appealed to drivers: «We ask to refrain from trips without urgent necessity, especially in the mining and industrial zone and steppe areas. Follow the recommendations of the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate on the technical readiness of vehicles for driving in severe frost conditions.»

Meteorologists warn of a sharp cold snap in the region, temperatures may drop to -40 °C (-40 °F). Mobile warming points have also been deployed in Chelyabinsk.
