Volgograd-Kamyshin Route Blocked Due to Bad Weather

Due to adverse weather conditions, an emergency traffic restriction has been imposed on the federal highway R-228, which connects Syzran, Saratov, and Volgograd. According to the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM), the special regime began at 9:00 p.m. today and will last until further notice.

The restriction affects the section from the 512th to the 622nd kilometer, which corresponds to the segment from the border of Kamyshin to Volgograd. On this stretch, the movement of scheduled and freight vehicles is prohibited.

In an official statement, it was said: «Due to the onset of adverse weather conditions, from 9:00 p.m. until further notice, a temporary traffic restriction has been introduced for freight and scheduled vehicles on the section of the federal public highway R-228 in the Volgograd region from the 512th to the 622nd kilometer. Be attentive and careful!»

Earlier, on the night of January 29–30, a temporary restriction was already introduced on the same section of the highway. At that time, traffic was closed not only for freight and scheduled transport, but also for passenger cars.
