Volgograd: Bus from Rodnikovaya Dolina to the Railway Station

The new route connects the microdistrict with the city center and operates along the First Longitudinal Road until late evening. High-capacity buses run on this line.

In Volgograd, on January 29, a new bus route began operation, providing a connection between the «Rodnikovaya Dolina» microdistrict and the central part of the city. High-capacity buses are used for transportation.

The majority of the new bus route is laid out along the First Longitudinal Highway.

The Volgograd administration stated: «The route, 14 kilometers long, runs along Khimina Street, Stepanishcheva Street, the new road on Rodnikovaya Street, Universitetsky Avenue, Krasnopresnenskaya Street, Elektrolesovskaya Street, Raboche-Krestyanskaya Street, V. I. Lenin Avenue, Port-Saida Street, and Kommunisticheskaya Street.»

From the initial stop «Khimina Street» in the Sovetsky District, buses pass through the following points:

The interval during peak hours is about 20 minutes. The first trip from Rodnikovaya Dolina departs at 05:30, the last at 21:55. From the station, the first bus leaves at 05:40, the last at 21:10.

Meanwhile, other routes serving the microdistrict — No. 5a «Khimzavod» — «Rodnikovaya Dolina», No. 85 «Zhilgorodok» — «Rodnikovaya Dolina», No. 15a «Rodnikovaya Dolina» — «DK Stroitel» (Builder«s Palace of Culture), and No. 23a »Rodnikovaya Dolina« — »7th Guards Street« — continue to operate as usual.

Residents of «Rodnikovaya Dolina» regularly complain about bus No. 85. According to them, at the final stop, they have to wait at least half an hour, and the bus quickly fills to capacity, making boarding practically impossible.

Three years ago, the Volgograd administration planned to resume the operation of bus No. 5a, directing it from «Rodnikovaya Dolina» to the «Children»s Center«. However, as a result of the transport reform, the route scheme was radically changed, and the route was redirected from north to south — to Khimzavod.
