Vladivostok bus driver puts out fire with hands and drives on

The driver of bus No. 24k received a timely signal about a fire in the engine compartment during the trip and extinguished it with his bare hands. Then he drove on as if nothing had happened.

The video was shot and published on his social media by Ivan Prozherin. In the footage, the bus stops at a traffic light near the Vtororechenskaya interchange, the driver calmly gets out, opens the engine compartment cover, and reaches for the fire with his hands. Commentators immediately started joking: «Right, there»s no time to get the fire extinguisher, the traffic light only gives a minute. He quickly put out the fire and drove off.«

It is still unknown whether there were passengers on the bus and how many. The information was not commented on by the company VPOPAT. The city hall explained that the bus has been taken off the route, an inspection is underway, and the cause of the fire is being determined.

This bus runs from Vtoraya Rechka to Sputnik. Some, noting this, write that the flame in the engine is working instead of a turbine. But mostly they joke about how the driver found out about the fire. One of the assumptions is that passengers asked to turn off the heating of the rear seats or it became hot in the cabin. The author of the video explained in the comments: a girl from a car behind the bus saw the flame and warned the man. Most likely, he put some fabric on the engine as insulation, and it caught fire.
