Ulyanovsk's Imperial Bridge Under Repair for Protruding Expansion Joints

On the night of January 21-22, Ulyanovsk road workers were again working on the Imperial Bridge over the Volga, according to the city administration. They used cast asphalt to repair the approaches to the expansion joints on the right bank side. The work will continue in the coming nights.

Recall that the repaired expansion joints on the overpass have drawn many complaints from drivers. On social media, Ulyanovsk residents note that the metal structures protrude above the road surface like «speed bumps». One has to slow down as much as possible, otherwise cars shake significantly, risking damage to the suspension.

Repair of expansion joints on the Imperial Bridge was completed in August 2025. The overpass was closed at nights and on weekends, causing many inconveniences for citizens. After the work was completed, talks resumed about the need to renew the bridge«s asphalt pavement. Deep ruts have formed there, creating problems for transport.
