Daily multi-kilometer traffic jams on Chervishevsky Tract have become a serious problem for Tyumen residents. To travel a few kilometers, city residents are forced to spend about 40 minutes on the road.
The Tyumen Transport Department announced plans to organize a dedicated lane for buses. It will be laid on the section from Maurice Thorez Street to the «Tyumen Bypass» road. This decision was made due to the highway«s high congestion and regular disruptions to the public transport schedule.
The department explained: «Taking into account the development of residential construction in the area of Chervishevsky Tract, the introduction of dedicated lanes on the section from Maurice Thorez Street to the »Tyumen Bypass« road is planned for the future period. This will reduce travel time on this section of the street-road network and minimize cases of significant deviations from the schedule.»
The issue of organizing a «dedicated lane» on this highway has been raised repeatedly. Back in December, officials spoke about plans to create new lanes for public transport, but Chervishevsky Tract was not included in the list of addresses. In January, the authorities promised to consider such a possibility but noted that it was premature to talk about specific deadlines.
