Tula tram service to Zelenstroy halted from February 7

In Tula, starting February 7, three tram routes will cease service towards Zelenstroy and the Mendeleyevsky settlement. The city administration«s press service announced the changed routes.

Tram routes No. 12, 13, and 14 will alter their paths due to preparations for the next phase of the Orlovsky Overpass reconstruction—the only bridge connecting Zelenstroy with the rest of the city. Repair work on the tram tracks will begin there soon.

Now, all three trams will run only to the Bus Station—meaning they will travel along Stanislavsky Street directly to Boldina. Consequently, reaching the Pedagogical University will require either walking or transferring to another mode of transport.
To somewhat ease the lives of Tula residents during the repairs, which will last until September 1, 2026, a free shuttle tram will be launched. It will run from the intersection of Stanislavsky Street and Lenin Avenue to the Pedagogical University stop, where residents can transfer to other transport to reach Zelenstroy and beyond.
Time will tell how convenient this will be, given the constant complaints from Tula residents about long waits for public transport.
