Tramway Reconstruction in Nizhny Novgorod Postponed
Prior to the delay, the reduction of tram routes was set to begin on February 1.
Reconstruction of tramway tracks on the section from Igarskaya Street to the Avtozavodskaya Metro Station stop in Nizhny Novgorod has been postponed. The work, planned for February 1, will not start on time, as reported by the company Ekologicheskie Proekty (Environmental Projects).
In connection with the future work, tram routes No. 8 and 417 were planned to be shortened to the specified stop on Lenin Avenue.
However, for the next three weeks, trams will run according to the current schedule. The postponement of the reconstruction is related to unfavorable weather conditions — accumulated snow that has not yet been cleared.
The work is now intended to begin on February 21. Simultaneously, starting February 1, the renovation of the turnaround loop in the Lapshikha microdistrict is set to begin. This will lead to changes in the movement of tram routes No. 27 and 18, and route No. 19 will be temporarily suspended.
