Reconstruction of tram tracks in Nizhny Novgorod at the turning loop in the Lapshikha microdistrict will begin on February 1. This was announced by the company «Ekologicheskiye Proyekty» (Environmental Projects).

The contractor will carry out a full range of work to replace the rail track and overhead contact system. They aim to complete the main construction and installation work in the second quarter of 2026. The last major repair here was conducted in 1978.

Due to the start of work, several routes will undergo changes:

  • Tram No. 18 will operate according to the scheme: «Tram Depot No. 1 — Osharskaya Street — Belinskogo Street — Pushkina Street — Beketova Street — Kuznechikhinskaya Street — Tram Depot No. 1»;

  • Tram No. 27 in the forward direction will operate according to the scheme: «Moskovsky Vokzal (Moscow Station) — Maslyakova Street», in the reverse direction: «Maslyakova Street — Moskovsky Vokzal (Moscow Station)»;

  • Service on route No. 19 («Tram Depot No. 1 — Myza») is temporarily suspended.

In «Ekologicheskiye Proyekty» (Environmental Projects), they noted that passengers heading to Belinskogo Street can transfer from tram No. 27 to tram No. 2 at the «Krasnoselskaya Street» stop.

From February 1, reconstruction of tram tracks from the turning loop on Igarskaya Street to the «Avtozavodskaya Metro Station» stop also begins. Due to the start of work, the routes of two lines — No. 8 and No. 417 — will be shortened. They will operate to the «Avtozavodskaya Metro Station» stop on Lenin Avenue.
