In Russia, authorities plan to tighten the rules for conducting driver«s license exams. Changes will affect the theory of traffic rules. The corresponding bill is ready to be submitted to the government. Details are provided in this article.
“The public discussion of the document with amendments on conducting the theoretical exam for obtaining a driver«s license has been completed, and now the results are being summarized. Then, based on the results, there will be a revision of the document, interdepartmental coordination, and submission for consideration to the government,” a TASS informed source said.
Candidates may be barred from taking the theory test or have their results annulled if they use gadgets during testing. Moreover, the theoretical exam itself is planned to be conducted under video cameras.
The practice period is also set for changes, with proposals to reduce it. For example, if a person successfully passes the traffic rules theory, the interval before taking the practical test will be shortened to two months instead of the previously provided six. Such and other amendments to the ‘Rules for Conducting Exams on the Right to Drive Vehicles and Issuing Driver«s Licenses’ have been proposed by the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MVD).
