Traffic pattern to change on overpass near Myzinsky Bridge

In March, Nizhny Novgorod plans to resume repairs on the overpass near the Myzinsky Bridge. The work was paused due to temperature conditions but is set to continue in the spring. In connection with this, a new traffic pattern will be introduced at the crossing in early February, the Department of Municipal Infrastructure Development (GUMiD) reported.

Starting at 7:00 on February 2, the far right lanes on the overpass will be closed. Traffic will be organized in the middle lanes in each direction.
The third stage of the major overhaul is planned to begin in March with the onset of favorable weather. Before this, the overpass will be cleared of snow, and necessary barriers, road signs, and traffic lights will be installed.
According to the contract, the contractor must complete all work by December. The authorities hope to open traffic across the entire crossing ahead of schedule — in August.
It is added that the major overhaul of the overpass passing over Suzdalskaya Street is being carried out for the first time since its construction — about 45 years have passed since then. At the site, they are replacing the road surface and beams of the span structures, strengthening the supports, updating expansion joints, performing waterproofing, installing drainage, and repairing sidewalks.
