TR-53 Stage II in Perm Opens This Summer

In late June, construction of the second stage of the TR-53 highway resumed in Motovilikha after a winter break. The stage was initially to be completed and handed over in autumn, but today Perm Krai Governor Dmitry Makhonin said the schedule has moved up — technical traffic will begin in early August.

In winter, work was paused because a gas pipeline had to be relocated at the intersection with Zhukovskogo Street. This summer, road workers plan to relocate three more gas pipelines. Governor Dmitry Makhonin writes on his social media that the TR-53 section from Uinskaya Street to the bridge over the Talzhanka River is already 70% ready.

The tunnel connecting the first and second stages of the highway has already been built, and the top layer of asphalt is being laid on the roadway while pedestrian walkways are being built in parallel. Workers are also installing noise barriers along the entire road section. Technical traffic on the section from Uinskaya Street to Griboyedova Street will begin on 1 August.

“In autumn we will complete construction of the entire section,” the governor adds. “We will link the new road with Prospekt Oktyabryat and Sapfirnaya Street. That means residents of Perm’s outlying districts will be able to drive to the city centre faster.”
