Authorities in Novosibirsk plan to leave ridges of snow on roads. This was reported by NGS with reference to the city hall.
In response to an editorial inquiry, the Department of Road and Amenities Maintenance explained that a new snow-clearing method will be used due to the large number of parked cars on streets.
«At present, the issue of introducing a snow removal technique that involves forming a strip (ridge) of snow along the axis of the roadway is being considered,» the city hall said.
The formation of such ridges will be a temporary measure, to be applied where street width allows, clarified the relevant department.
On January 26, NGS also reported that Novosibirsk residents named locations with un-cleared bus stops and sidewalks.
