Surgut residents voice complaints over cold public buses
Frost has caused ice to form on the windows of public buses in Surgut during the cold spell.
Residents of Surgut have complained about the cold in public transport during severe frosts. They expressed their dissatisfaction on social media.
«There»s no heating in the bus. It«s very cold. People are freezing. By the time I got there, my toes went numb,» wrote a Surgut resident.
«The buses are always cold, I ride them every day, it»s freezing in there. It«s frosty outside, and the buses are just the same,» supported Oksana.
«The bus isn»t designed for our climate, there are no double-glazed windows, so the interior freezes over,« believes Nikita.
«The buses aren»t for the north, and in summer the heat in them is unbearable,« joined Natalia.
According to residents, the problem is most common on bus routes No. 18, No. 45, No. 61, No. 68, and No. 47.
The Surgut administration stated that the temperature regime in public transport meets established standards.
«According to inspection results, the average temperature in the bus cabin was +12°C (54°F). This is a standard indicator,» responded the city hall.
Earlier we wrote that staff complained about the cold at a new hospital in the village of Kondinskoye. It opened last year, but according to doctors, the walls in the cabins are already «shifting from the strong wind».
