In Perm, construction of the second stage of the Srednyaya Dam continues. Perm Krai Governor Dmitry Makhonin promised to open traffic on it a year ahead of schedule. Our transport correspondent found out what has been done so far and what builders are working on now.

All reconstruction work is expected to be completed by autumn 2027.

To build the second half of the bridge over the Yegoshikha River, which locals have long called the Srednyaya Dam, a temporary bridge was installed for construction vehicles. Because the construction site is close to the eco-trail near the art installation «Hives» by Alexander Zhunyov, access there has been temporarily closed.

For the new crossing over the Yegoshikha, all nine supports have already been installed, and six of the eight spans have been assembled between them. The seventh is now being assembled from 33-meter-long span beams for the foundation. Because they are huge, they are brought to the construction site at night to avoid disturbing traffic.

On several spans from the side of Revolyutsii Street, the lower layer of asphalt has been laid, curbs partially installed, and foundations prepared for lighting masts. Builders continue to concrete the spans between supports, after which waterproofing will be laid, followed by asphalt.

Water drainage has also been provided: it will be at the first and ninth out of nine supports. Work has begun on drainage where water will be supplied from treatment wells.

Currently, road workers are continuing to reinforce the frame of the spans before concreting them. Reinforcement bars are connected into «bundles» to secure the span beams together and strengthen the bridge structure.

In June, the technical readiness of the second stage of the Srednyaya Dam was estimated at 44%. The reconstruction was scheduled to be completed by 21 October 2027, but the Governor of Perm Krai, Dmitry Makhonin, promised last week that the new road would be opened a year early.

After the construction of the second stage of the Srednyaya Dam, builders will close the first half, which is currently used by traffic, for reconstruction. There, the bridge deck with expansion joints, waterproofing, and painting will be completely replaced. The work is carried out by the branch of Uralmostostroy JSC — Bridge Detachment No. 123.

Earlier, we showed the progress of construction of the second stage of the TR-53 highway in Motovilikha.
