Employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM) are warning Omsk drivers of adverse weather conditions. According to the forecast for today, 2 February, cloudy weather, light snow, frost, and black ice are expected. The air temperature will remain within the average monthly norm — from -14 to -16°C (7 to 3°F). This was reported by the press service of the regional directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

Due to the worsening weather, a high risk of traffic accidents remains. The department listed sections of highways where drivers should be especially careful:

Tyumen — Omsk, 578+900 — 579+700 km (Lubinsky District);

  • Omsk — Cherlak, 25+000 — 25+980 km (Omsky District);

  • Southern bypass of Omsk, 818+000 — 818+200 km (Omsky District);

  • Southern bypass of Omsk, 822+000 — 822+200 km (Omsky District);

  • Regional road Omsk — Russkaya Polyana, 25+000 — 26+000 km (Omsky District);

  • Syropyatskoye — Kalachinsk, 58+000 — 59+000 km (Kormilovsky District);

  • Kalachinsky District — an unregulated railway crossing near the Kalachinsky meat processing plant.

    Rescuers remind: in such weather, it is important to avoid sharp maneuvers and high speed.

    «To minimize the risk of a traffic accident, it is necessary to follow two main rules: try to be visible yourself and see other road users in time. In wet weather, the road is slippery, which increases braking distance. Therefore, you should not drive recklessly; speed should be minimal.»
