Skidding Trucks Cause Level 10 Gridlock in Rostov
The traffic congestion in Rostov commenced earlier than the typical peak hour due to heavy snowfall.
In Rostov, around 4 p.m., level 10 traffic jams began — even before rush hour. Congestion is reported in almost all districts of the city, according to data from Yandex Maps. A severe snowstorm is affecting the region today.
Jams have formed in the city center, in the Western and Northern residential areas, as well as on Sholokhov Street and in the Selmash neighborhood. The situation is particularly difficult on Vavilov Street. There, according to Yandex Maps, an accident occurred. A reader of 161.RU reports that on the incline towards Vavilov, there is currently «a traffic jam of skidding trucks with trailers, lorries, and stuck fuel tankers» — snow has not been cleared there.
Earlier, drivers in the Don region were asked not to use personal vehicles without good reason. On the roads, there is poor visibility and black ice.
