Bus route number 36 has once again been cut short, terminating at the «Vyshka II» stop. Earlier, residents of Perm complained that this forced them to wait excessively long for buses that no longer serve Gashkova Street. Here«s what occurred now.

In late December, the city transport department announced on its Telegram channel that route number 36 was shortened to Vyshka II. Readers of 59.RU wrote to us during the January holidays about the problem. According to Perm residents, they waited for their bus for about 40 minutes only to find out that it doesn«t go to Gashkova but stops at Vyshka II. At that time, the transport department told 59.RU that the road on Novaya Street is in poor condition because the developer doesn»t clear it. The developer «StroyPanelKomplekt» disagreed with the authorities« claims and argued that it clears snow from the road every day.

The problem wasn«t resolved: on the afternoon of January 25 and the morning of January 26, the transport department again warned Perm residents that route number 36 has been temporarily shortened to Vyshka II. The transport department told 59.RU that road safety specialists inspected the road. They took measurements and drove along it in test mode with a bus. During the trip, the specialists concluded that a rut had formed on the road, and on its shoulders—a snowpack (a thick layer of snow— Ed.). The width of the bus»s wheels turned out to be greater than the rut, and because of this, it«s impossible to pass oncoming cars unless one side of the bus goes beyond its boundaries. But this can»t be done due to the snow: when hitting the rut, the bus sharply changes trajectory and could veer into the oncoming lane.

In GorTrans, they added that they decided to shorten the route «to a safe turning point for safety reasons.»

«This inconvenience is a forced and temporary measure,» explained to 59.RU journalist in the transport department. «As soon as the condition of the roadway on Novaya Street is brought to normative state and traffic safety is confirmed by a repeated inspection, buses will return to the route.»

The transport department emphasized that the street is owned by the developer, and it is responsible for its maintenance.

At «StroyPanelKomplekt,» they responded differently to the 59.RU journalist and sent photos taken after snow removal.

«Everything has been cleaned and sanded, they clean regularly,» 59.RU was told by the company. «Through the management company, we ask residents to remove cars, we give notices.»

Earlier we reported that in Perm from February 1, the routes of two popular intercity buses will be changed— they will not go to Perm II.
