Rostov Buses to Get Temperature Sensors

Rostov transport operators may be required to install temperature sensors in buses. The announcement was made by Mayor Alexander Skryabin following complaints from residents about non-functioning air conditioners. The sensors are intended to help remotely monitor cabin temperature.
«Municipal contracts expire next year, so the department will work on including temperature sensors in the new contracts,» Skryabin said.
The mayor also said that last week, transport department employees inspected Rostov buses and found 52 contract violations. Seventeen of those involved non-functioning air conditioners.
Recently, reporters from 161.RU tested the air conditioning on 20 Rostov bus routes. In most buses, the AC was working, but not always noticeably. The cool air typically reached only the middle of the bus — the closer to the rear, the hotter it became from the engine.
