Restrictions imposed on buses and trucks on Samara region highways

The Ministry of Transport and Highways of Samara Region announced movement restrictions on the M-5 «Ural» and R-241 federal highways based on data from FKU «Povolzhuправтодор» (the Volga Federal Highway Administration).

«Due to unfavorable weather conditions, the movement of route vehicles and freight transport is temporarily restricted on the following sections within the boundaries of Samara Region:

M-5 «Ural» (approach to Ulyanovsk): sections from km 294+500 to km 294+660 and from km 295+100 to km 328+400;

  • R-241 «Kazan — Buinsk — Ulyanovsk» (approach to Samara): section from km 326+367 to km 400+031.

    The restrictions have been introduced to ensure road safety. The duration of their enforcement will depend on an improvement in weather conditions,« the ministry said.

    There are no movement restrictions on regional and inter-municipal roads under the jurisdiction of Samara Region.

    Drivers are advised to choose alternative routes and strictly observe speed limits.

    According to weather services, heavy snow and blizzards are expected in Samara Region on 30 and 31 January 2026. Roads may experience snow drifts, reduced visibility, and icy conditions.

    Drivers are recommended:

    to avoid long-distance trips if possible;

  • to observe speed limits and maintain distance;

  • to avoid sharp maneuvers and overtaking.

    «Pedestrians should be especially careful when crossing the road. In emergencies, call 112. Take care of yourselves and be cautious on the roads!» appealed the traffic police officers of Samara Region.
